Readers are invited to discuss the 2021 candidates for the Middle School Nutmeg award, answer trivia questions, and do an activity related to the books. This months book is The Stars Beneath Our Feet by David Barclay Moore. This library program is for tweens in grades 6-8. This program will be done on Zoom.

    Just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23rd, make yourself comfortable, grab a drink, maybe even your dinner, and click on the link you were sent to join the Zoom presentation…then sit back and watch East Meets West: From Japonism to Impressionism. ArtScapades will look at the influence of Japanese art and culture on French and American Impressionism. This lecture begins with a look at two of Japan’s master printmakers, Hokusai and Hiroshige, and will then move on to discuss their influence on well known names of the Impressionist movement including Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, William Merritt Chase and Childe Hassam.
